Support groups offer learning, shared experience and valuable insight from others dealing with similar challenges. A number of support groups are available through Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital. Current and former patients, family members and caregivers are encouraged to participate in these important educational programs.

Stroke Support Groups

  • This group provides programs of interest to stroke survivors and their caregivers as well as an opportunity for support and socialization.

    Registration is not required and there is no fee to attend.

    Date: Second Wednesday each month
    Time: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Aphasia Support Groups

  • This group is for individuals with expressive/receptive aphasia as well as friends and families to build a community of better communication, growth and education.

    Date: First Tuesday of every OTHER month (February, April, June, August, October, December)

Brain Injury Support Groups

  • This group provides support and socialization for survivors of brain injury and their families/caregivers. We provide a relaxed environment for sharing of personal experiences, updates on social events, professional speakers and general brain injury updates.

    Registration is not required and there is no fee to attend.

    Date:Fourth Wednesday of each month

Spinal Cord Injury Support Groups

  • This group provides support and socialization for those living with a spinal cord injury and their families, friends and caregivers. We provide a relaxed environment for sharing of personal experiences, networking and education.
