Scott Cook, DPT

Director of Outpatient Rehabilitation

Scott Cook, DPT, is the director of outpatient rehabilitation at Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital.   He established the department in 2014 and oversees all outpatient services including the Comprehensive Neuro Day Program. A practicing physical therapist, Scott specializes in treating patients with orthopedic, neurological and amputee diagnoses.

Previously, Scott worked as Penn State Health’s inpatient rehabilitation clinical manager and led its Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) preparation efforts. His work helped secure the hospital’s first CARF accreditation. Scott also co-developed the hospital’s spinal cord injury, stroke, amputee and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation programs. Before that, Scott worked for Select Medical’s Select Physical Therapy in Pennsylvania and Kessler Rehabilitation Institute in New Jersey in outpatient and inpatient centers respectively.

Scott holds a doctorate in physical therapy from Temple University and a master’s degree from Ithaca College.
He is a certified instructor for the Crisis Prevention Institute and provides training to staff at multiple rehabilitation hospitals on non-violent crisis prevention and intervention.
