Occupational Therapy

  • At Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital, occupational therapy (OT) is an integral part of our comprehensive approach to patient care. OT focuses on helping individuals develop the "skills for job living." This means everything from dressing and grooming to driving and working. By applying the proven techniques and latest technologies, occupational therapists enable individuals with physical and functional challenges to achieve as much independence as possible in their daily activities.
Treatment is designed specifically for an individual's needs following a traumatic brain or spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation, surgery, or other orthopedic or neurologic injury. OT also offers specialized treatment for hand and upper extremity conditions.
