  • Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital’s Amputee Program offers comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation for patients who have experienced limb loss. Throughout recovery, our goal is to help patients maximize their functional independence, find emotional strength and confidence, and successfully transition back to home, work, and the community. Our integrated approach to amputee rehabilitation focuses on the post-surgical, prosthetic, and reintegration phases to:

    • Address proper limb management
    • Increase strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance
    • Decrease pain and discomfort
    • Train individuals to use prostheses with confidence to avoid complications

As required by Joint Commission and CARF, we collect, track and analyze data for our amputee program to allow for continued performance improvement and program development. If you have questions or want to know more, please speak to our member of our staff.
