Mark Freeburn

Mark Freeburn serves as the Central Pennsylvania market executive for Select Medical’s inpatient rehabilitation division and CEO for Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital. In this role, he oversees the hospitals’ strategic direction and operations, business development and patient care experiences while also working with regional partners, including Penn State Health, to provide inpatient rehabilitation hospital services.

Mark has more than 17 years of experience leading inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Hospitals under his leadership have placed in the top ten percent of rehabilitation hospitals returning patients back to the community and have been recognized for operational excellence.

Previously, Mark worked as a regional director for Balanced Care Corporation, an assisted living organization. He was responsible for Northeast operations as well as project development, financing and mergers and acquisitions.

Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Penn State University. He has served on the boards of the Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania, Hospital Management Services and local affiliates of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association.
