  • CBS21: Traumatic brain injury patient hits the slopes for the first time after accident
    February 17, 2017

On Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, former Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital patients attended an adaptive ski event at Roundtop Mountain Resort. The event was hosted by Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics and Baltimore Adapted Recreation Sports and was sponsored by Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital and Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

One of the featured patients is Kyle, a 27-year-old who was injured in a snowboarding accident in March 2016. After being told he may never walk or talk again, this event was the first time Kyle returned to the slopes since his accident less than one year ago. The segment can be viewed here.
